Description:

🥾 12 miles  🥾 Linear 🥾 Moderate 🥾 Walk Leader: Joe L

⚠️Important Note: This is a linear walk, so we meet at the END of the walk at Filey Country Park Caravan Site (YO14 9ET) at 9.30 am, then carpool to the start of the walk at Ganton. Please don't pay for parking when you arrive, as we'll car share to Ganton before setting off at approximately 10.00 am. Finishing back in Filey means there's no transport to organise at the end of the day.

Please note: This walk passes through working farmland and livestock fields, so 🚫🐶 dogs cannot be accommodated.

Experience one of the most rewarding sections of the Yorkshire Wolds Way as we walk from the rolling chalk hills of Ganton to the spectacular coastline at Filey Bay. This unforgettable 12.1-mile linear walk combines sweeping views, peaceful valleys, historic farmsteads and the dramatic moment when the North Sea comes into view.

As we journey across the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, we'll pass rolling arable fields, grazing sheep and cattle, hidden dry valleys and some of the finest viewpoints on the National Trail. A woodland lunch stop offers the perfect chance to relax before we continue towards the coast.

Around three-quarters of the way through the walk we'll stop at The Ship Inn, Muston, where refreshments and toilets are available before the final few miles into Filey.

The walk follows well-established paths but includes a few road crossings, one railway crossing, some steps and the occasional uneven or slightly overgrown section, so sturdy walking boots are recommended. It's ideal for anyone comfortable with a full day's walking at a steady pace.

The highlight of the day is undoubtedly the finish. After miles of tranquil countryside, the landscape suddenly opens to reveal Filey Bay and the North Sea—a truly memorable ending to one of Yorkshire's finest walks.

Whether you're completing another section of the Yorkshire Wolds Way or simply looking for a fantastic day out in great company, we'd love you to join us!

🅿️ Carpark parking (Filey), is £11.90 (Card Payment) for all day parking.

🚻 Toilets are available at the carpark (Filey), paid.

🥪 You will need to bring a packed lunch.

🥾 Boots are recommended.
