Frequently asked questions

How do I join a walk?

Have a look at our upcoming walks, choose a walk you'd like to attend and just turn up. We recommend that you allow yourself at least an extra 10 minutes to park up, get your boots on and get to the starting point. If you have any questions about a walk then please get in touch with the walk leader

Do I need to be a member?

You're welcome to come on up to three walks to try us out, but after that you will need to sign up as a member of the Ramblers

When you are signing up to the Ramblers, remember to select the 'East Yorkshire & Derwent' for your area and 'East Yorks Get Your Boots On' for your group

Who is the group for?

GYBO is aimed at people in their 20s & 30s, although we have members who are now 40+ and continue to walk with us because they enjoy the group so much!

We have a range of walks from easy to hard, so no matter what your level of fitness and experience, you can find a walk that suits you.

What do I need to bring on a walk?

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear, also bring a packed lunch and enough water. Please see our recommended kit list.

If you have medication such as EpiPen/inhalers or medical conditions that may affect you during the walks, please let the walk leader know.

Are dogs allowed on the walks?

For the most part, dogs are welcome to come on our walks, but there are times when we can't allow dogs, so please check the description for the walk you are interested in ... and if it doesn't say one way or the other then it's best to contact the walk leader to check.

Please be aware that dogs are not allowed on our weekends away.
